    We are seeking an experienced Beacon Architect/Analyst to design, maintain, and optimize the organization’s application architecture. This role evaluates how future architectural changes impact current systems, identifies upcoming technology needs, and develops application solutions that align organizational requirements with off the shelf software capabilities.

    Responsibilities:

    • Optimizes application usage and workflow efficiency by integrating key systems.
    • Assigned areas include but are not limited to Epic Willow Inpatient Pharmacy, Beacon, Omnicell, First Data Bank, and IV Oncolog.
    • Serves as a solution expert for upgrades and services for reported issues or for assigned projects.
    • Maintains, updates, designs, and develops assigned applications by translating organizational needs.
    • Collaborates with operations leaders and end users of the system to design, build, test, train, implement, evaluate, and provide maintenance to assigned applications.
    • Educates and develops Application Analysts, Application Consultants, and other team members.
    • Provides outstanding customer service to our customers and maintains positive relationships with other employees and contractors.

    • Troubleshoots identified issues, solves end user problems, enhances, and optimizes applications.

    • Provides on-call coverage as deemed appropriate by management.
    • Identifies and escalates production-critical issues to appropriate IT personnel.
    • Uses ticketing system to log and monitor tickets.
    • Participates in projects as deemed appropriate by management.
    • Evaluates and corrects issues involving configuration of applications.
    • Participates in Disaster Recovery planning, implementation, and testing.

    Education, Experience, Qualifications:

    • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Technology, Healthcare, or related field with 5+ years of relevant IT or Healthcare experience OR currently enrolled and within one year of completion with 5+ years of experience OR High School Diploma/GED with 11+ years of relevant experience.
    • Epic Beacon certification is required. Willow certification is preferred.
    • Minimum of 5 years of relevant IT/clinical experience required. Prefer 7 or more years of experience in assigned areas.
    • Must have the ability to work nights and weekends as needed to support the business (very low call volume).

    In this role, you will provide technical leadership across the program, translating business objectives and user needs into secure, scalable, flexible, and sustainable solution architectures. The Technical Solution Architect will collaborate with business stakeholders, technical teams, data and security professionals, product managers, user experience teams, end users, and third-party vendors to support the development and implementation of a modern enterprise platform.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Define and maintain solution architecture guidance across application, integration, data, security, reporting, analytics, cloud, and operational domains.
    • Translate business objectives and user requirements into practical technical architecture recommendations and implementation strategies.
    • Ensure solution architectures align with business goals, user experience objectives, scalability requirements, and long-term maintainability.
    • Partner with product, design, and delivery teams to develop technical strategies, architecture roadmaps, and implementation plans that support iterative and agile delivery approaches.

    • Support phased implementation planning by identifying dependencies, technical constraints, risks, and opportunities for incremental value delivery.
    • Guide integration planning across enterprise systems, financial applications, identity and access management platforms, reporting solutions, and other business-critical technologies.
    • Support data and legacy system migration efforts, including data mapping, transformation, cleansing, validation, and cutover planning.
    • Promote architecture governance, documentation standards, decision records, peer reviews, testing practices, security-by-design principles, and maintainable solution patterns.
    • Evaluate AI-enabled, automation, analytics, and emerging technology capabilities within established governance, privacy, security, and compliance frameworks.
    • Clearly communicate technical tradeoffs and architectural decisions to stakeholders across business and technology functions.

    Minimum Qualifications

    • 8+ years of experience in IT delivery, systems implementation, software engineering, enterprise technology, or solution architecture.
    • 5+ years of experience as a Technical Solution Architect, Enterprise Architect, Technical Lead, Engineering Lead, or similar role supporting complex enterprise systems.
    • 5+ years of experience working within cross-functional teams utilizing agile, iterative, and user-centered delivery methodologies.
    • Demonstrated ability to translate business goals, operational requirements, and user needs into effective technical solutions and architectural guidance.
    • Experience with cloud-based enterprise platforms, API and integration design, data migration, security frameworks, accessibility considerations, and phased implementations.
    • Experience evaluating vendor technical designs, implementation approaches, and project deliverables for feasibility, quality, security, and maintainability.
    • Familiarity with AI-assisted tools and technologies that support requirements analysis, design reviews, development processes, testing, documentation, or migration activities.
    • Strong communication, facilitation, analytical, and stakeholder management skills.
    • Proven ability to collaborate across business and technical teams while effectively communicating technical concepts and tradeoffs.

    Preferred Qualifications

    • Experience supporting large-scale enterprise platforms, including ERP, procurement, finance, grants management, licensing, permitting, customer service, or workflow-intensive applications.
    • Experience with data governance, reporting, analytics, data quality, and migration initiatives.
    • Familiarity with industry-standard security, privacy, compliance, accessibility, and records management requirements.
    • Experience with Agile, hybrid delivery models, phased rollouts, operational readiness planning, testing strategies, and transition management.
    • Experience evaluating AI-enabled capabilities, automation solutions, analytics platforms, reporting tools, search technologies, or decision-support systems in regulated enterprise environments.

  • AWS System Administrator/DevOps Engineer

    POSITION SUMMARY:

    This position will report to the MMIS Technical Manager and will serve as the Senior System Analyst for MassHealth’s MMIS application. We are seeking a versatile AWS System Administrator/DevOps Engineer to manage, maintain, and optimize our critical Medicaid Management application environment.

    This role requires expertise in traditional system administration (RHEL, WebLogic, Oracle) and modern DevOps practices on AWS. A key responsibility will be building a Proof of Concept (POC) to re-architect and rebuild the legacy application in a scalable, cloud-native AWS environment.

    DETAILED LIST OF ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Responsible for providing technology initiatives, support on-going release activities and POC for MMIS application transformation as System Admin/DevOps engineer.
    • Install, configure, and maintain Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) servers in AWS cloud environments (EC2 instances).
    • Administer and troubleshoot Java/J2EE applications deployed on WebLogic application servers, including configuration of JDBC data sources, connection pools, and JVM performance monitoring.
    • Provide system-level support for Oracle RDS, collaborating with DBA teams for performance tuning, backup, and recovery.
    • Monitor system performance, availability, and security using tools like Dynatrace, CloudWatch and implement robust troubleshooting procedures for application and infrastructure issues.
    • Build a Proof of Concept (POC) for rebuilding the legacy Java/J2EE application using modern AWS services (e.g., Lambda, ECS/EKS, S3), micro services to improve scalability, reliability, and cost-efficiency.
    • Automate routine administrative tasks using scripting languages (Shell, Python, Jython, WLST) to increase operational efficiency.
    • Work closely with development, testing, and operations teams to bridge the gap between development and operations, ensuring smooth software delivery and knowledge sharing.

    SKILLS:

     

    • Proven experience as a System Administrator or DevOps Engineer managing enterprise-level applications.
    • Strong expertise in AWS cloud services (EC2, S3, VPC, IAM, CloudWatch, etc.).
    • Hands-on experience with Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) administration.
    • Proficiency in administering WebLogic application servers and supporting Java/J2EE applications.
    • Install, configure, and maintain Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) servers in AWS cloud environments (EC2 instances).
    • Familiarity with Oracle databases from a system administration perspective.
    • Experience with version control systems, specifically GitLab, and CI/CD practices.
