    IT Architect/Analyst, Hospital Billing

    We are seeking an experienced Hospital Billing Architect/Analyst to design, maintain, and optimize the organization’s application architecture. This role evaluates how future architectural changes impact current systems, identifies upcoming technology needs, and develops application solutions that align organizational requirements with off the shelf software capabilities.

    Responsibilities:
    • Optimizes application usage and workflow efficiency by integrating key systems.
    • Assigned areas include Hospital Billing SBO. Admin, charging admin, charge router, claims, and remittance are nice to haves. Serves as a solution expert for upgrades and services for reported issues or for assigned projects.
    • Maintains, updates, designs, and develops assigned applications by translating organizational needs.
    • Collaborates with operations leaders and end users of the system to design, build, test, train, implement, evaluate, and provide maintenance to assigned applications.
    • Educates and develops Application Analysts, Application Consultants, and other team members.
    • Troubleshoots identified issues, solves end user problems, enhances, and optimizes applications.
    • Participates in ongoing support and maintenance of existing systems and applications. Performs after-hours maintenance as required.
    • Creates and maintains detailed technical documentation for assigned systems.
    • Identifies and escalates production-critical issues to appropriate IT personnel.
    • Uses ticketing system to log and monitor tickets.
    • Participates in projects as deemed appropriate by management.
    • Evaluates and corrects issues involving configuration of applications.
    • Participates in Disaster Recovery planning, implementation, and testing.

    Education, Experience, Qualifications:
    • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Technology, Healthcare, or related field with 5+ years of relevant IT or Healthcare experience OR currently enrolled and within one year of completion with 5+ years of experience OR High School Diploma/GED with 11+ years of relevant experience.
    • Hospital Billing SBO certification required.
    • HB Billing Admin, HB Charging Admin, Charge Router certifications are preferred, but not required.
    • Minimum of 5 years of relevant IT/clinical experience required. Prefer 7 or more years of experience in assigned areas.
    • Must have the ability to work nights and weekends as needed to support the business (very low call volume).

    Our client, a large hospital system with a growing technology team, is adding an IT Architect, Cardiology to their team. This role will be a member of the Clinical IT staff and design and maintain the organization’s current application architecture, as well as plan for future architecture of applications. The IT Architect will also develop solution architectures with align with business requirements.

This role drives high-impact modeling that improves patient outcomes, operational efficiency, and population health.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Lead strategy and execution of AI/ML initiatives for clinical and operational innovation.
    • Build, deploy, and optimize predictive models using Databricks, Spark, MLflow, and Azure pipelines.
    • Partner with clinicians and healthcare leaders to translate problems into actionable insights.
    • Collaborate with data engineering teams to enhance pipelines from Epic Clarity/Caboodle into Azure Data Lake.
    • Ensure models meet standards for quality, fairness, explainability, and HIPAA compliance.

    Qualifications

    • PhD in Data Science, Computer Science, Biomedical Informatics, Statistics, Engineering, or related field.
    • 8+ years of experience in data science/ML (healthcare strongly preferred).
    • Expert in Python/R, Spark, Databricks, MLflow, and cloud ML deployment (Azure).
    • Strong knowledge of EHR data, healthcare data structures, and clinical workflows.
    • Proven leadership, communication, and cross-functional collaboration skills.

    Preferred

    • Experience integrating predictive models into Epic or clinical workflows.
    • Background in NLP, time-series, causal inference, or population health analytics.
