  • Accounting Associate/Bookkeeper

Accounting Associate – Wealth Management Firm

    Phoenix, AZ | $80,000–$90,000

Are you an accounting professional who enjoys working with multiple clients, solving problems, and taking ownership of the books rather than being one small piece of a large corporate accounting department?

A growing Phoenix-based wealth management firm is looking for an Accounting Associate to join its team. This is a great opportunity for someone with hands-on bookkeeping experience who wants to take the next step in their career and gain exposure to a sophisticated wealth management and family office environment.

You don’t need 10 years of experience to be successful here. If you have a strong accounting foundation, 1–2+ years of relevant experience, and know your way around QuickBooks Online, they are willing to invest in and train the right person.

    What You’ll Be Doing

You’ll work closely with client engagement teams and take responsibility for bookkeeping and accounting across multiple clients and entities. Your day-to-day will include:

    • Managing bookkeeping activities for multiple clients/entities simultaneously
    • Monitoring cash balances and performing account reconciliations
    • Supporting and processing payroll activities
    • Managing relationships with banks, vendors, and other third parties
    • Organizing financial data and documentation used to prepare financial statements
    • Preparing monthly budgets and financial reports
    • Researching and resolving accounting discrepancies
    • Creating recurring and ad hoc customized financial reports
    • Supporting tax filings and providing documentation to tax advisors
    • Communicating directly with clients regarding accounting questions and financial information

    What We’re Looking For

The biggest thing we’re looking for is hands-on, multi-client bookkeeping experience.

You’ll be a strong fit if you have experience managing the books for several clients or entities at the same time and are comfortable owning the details from beginning to end.

    Must-Haves:

    • Experience managing bookkeeping/accounting for multiple clients or entities
    • Strong hands-on QuickBooks Online (QBO) experience
    • Payroll experience
    • Experience with reconciliations, cash management, and financial reporting
    • Ability to juggle multiple deadlines and priorities while maintaining accuracy
    • Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills
    • Confidence communicating directly with clients
    • A hands-on mentality and willingness to jump in wherever needed

Candidates coming from a small accounting firm, outsourced accounting/bookkeeping firm, client accounting services (CAS), family office, wealth management firm, or their own bookkeeping business are especially encouraged to apply.

    Nice to Have

A Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or a related field is preferred but isn’t the only thing that matters. Experience with Bill.com, fiduciary accounting, high-net-worth clients, tax support, investment terminology, or advanced Excel would also be valuable.

    Who Will Thrive Here?

This probably isn’t the ideal opportunity for someone whose entire background has been in a large corporate finance environment with little hands-on bookkeeping responsibility.

It is a great fit for someone who likes variety, enjoys working across multiple businesses or entities, and wants to see the direct impact of their work.

Maybe you’re currently working at a small accounting firm managing several clients. Maybe you’re doing outsourced bookkeeping and ready for something more sophisticated. Or maybe you’ve built experience managing books independently and are ready to join a team where you can continue growing.

If you’re sharp, accountable, client-focused, and willing to learn, the firm is open to developing you.

Why You’ll Want to Consider It

This is more than a traditional bookkeeping position. You’ll gain exposure to the family office and wealth management space, work directly with clients, manage a variety of entities, and develop experience across accounting, payroll, reporting, tax support, and financial operations.

The target salary is $80,000–$90,000, depending on experience, with some flexibility for an exceptional candidate while remaining under $100,000.

Most importantly, you’ll join a firm that believes its people should enjoy where they work. Their mission is Empowering Families to Succeed by Connecting Wealth and Purpose, supported by five core values:

Care. Simplify. Help More. Play. Do The Right Thing.

If you’re looking for a place where you can take ownership, build relationships, continue learning, and grow your accounting career, we’d love to hear from you.

    Reports To: Controller
Experience: 2–4 Years of Public Accounting Tax Experience

Ready to Take Your Tax Career Beyond Public Accounting?

Are you a tax professional who enjoys the technical side of tax but is ready for something different than moving from client to client and busy season to busy season?

We’re looking for a Senior Tax Accountant to join the Finance & Accounting team of a sophisticated, entrepreneurial Family Office managing multiple privately held businesses, investments, and real estate entities.

This is not your traditional GL accounting role.

As the organization continues to leverage technology and AI to automate portions of traditional accounting and reporting, we’re investing in professionals who can bring deeper tax expertise, analytical thinking, and problem-solving to the team.

Your primary focus will be the hands-on preparation and compliance of internal business tax returns, particularly Partnership (Form 1065) and S-Corporation (Form 1120-S) returns.

If you have 2–4 years of public accounting tax experience and are looking for an opportunity to take greater ownership, work directly with leadership, and build deeper knowledge of the businesses you’re supporting, this could be a great next move.

    What You’ll Do

Approximately 80–90% of your role will focus on tax preparation, compliance, planning, and research, including:

    • Prepare and review federal and state income tax returns for multiple partnerships and S-Corporations
    • Prepare Forms 1065 and 1120-S, including supporting schedules and workpapers
    • Support multi-state tax compliance across multiple entities and jurisdictions
    • Participate in annual income tax planning and compliance
    • Calculate quarterly estimated tax liabilities and payments
    • Research tax implications associated with new investments, transactions, and business activities
    • Communicate tax findings and considerations to the Controller, CFO, and executive leadership
    • Review internally and externally prepared tax returns for accuracy and completeness
    • Maintain fixed asset schedules and calculate federal, state, and AMT depreciation
    • Assist with sales tax, property tax, and other tax filings as needed
    • Partner with internal leadership, third-party tax professionals, financial partners, and joint venture partners
    • Identify opportunities to improve tax processes, workflows, documentation, and efficiency
    • Support special projects and additional tax initiatives as the organization continues to grow

    What We’re Looking For

The ideal candidate brings a strong foundation from public accounting and has hands-on experience preparing business tax returns.

    Required Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting
    • Approximately 2–4 years of tax experience within public accounting
    • Hands-on experience preparing Partnership returns (Form 1065)
    • Hands-on experience preparing S-Corporation returns (Form 1120-S)
    • Experience preparing federal and state business income tax returns
    • Strong understanding of tax compliance, supporting schedules, and workpapers
    • Strong Microsoft Excel skills
    • Excellent attention to detail and analytical ability
    • Strong organizational and communication skills
    • Ability to manage multiple entities and deadlines
    • Ability to work independently while collaborating with internal and external partners

    Preferred Qualifications

    • CPA, CPA candidate, or currently pursuing your CPA
    • Multi-state Partnership and S-Corporation tax experience
    • Real estate partnership or investment entity tax experience
    • Experience working with closely held businesses
    • Family Office, private investment, or HNW/UHNW client exposure
    • Tax planning and quarterly estimated payment experience
    • Fixed asset and depreciation experience
    • Experience with CS Fixed Asset Solutions or similar software
    • Experience researching the tax implications of new investments or transactions
    • An interest in AI, automation, and using technology to improve tax processes
