Vice President of Tax Compliance and Reporting
Location: Atlanta, GA | Industry: Private Equity Real Estate

Our client, a dynamic and rapidly growing private equity real estate investment firm, is seeking a Vice President of Tax Compliance and Reporting to lead and elevate their tax strategy. Reporting directly to the Chief Accounting Officer, this strategic leader will oversee all aspects of U.S. and international tax compliance—working cross-functionally and with external partners to drive process optimization, compliance, and scalability.

What You’ll Do

  • Lead all U.S. income tax reporting, including federal, state, and select international filings.

  • Review and manage work performed by external CPA firms to ensure accuracy and compliance.

  • Ensure full compliance with U.S. tax laws, including REIT requirements for applicable funds.

  • Provide strategic and operational leadership to optimize team performance and drive efficiencies.

  • Partner with Legal, Accounting, Finance, Operations, and Investor Relations to align tax processes with business objectives.

  • Champion tax process improvements using automation, data analytics, and technology tools.

  • Support strategic initiatives alongside the EVP of Tax and advise on tax implications of business decisions.

  • Stay abreast of evolving tax regulations and communicate relevant impacts across the business.

  • Lead the audit provision process, including planning, forecasting, and reporting.

  • Drive tax-related contributions to the design and rollout of a future ERP system.

  • Standardize sales/use tax reporting across growing business lines.


What You’ll Bring

  • Master’s degree in Accounting, Taxation, or JD/LLM; CPA strongly preferred.

  • 10+ years of experience in private equity real estate, REITs, or public accounting (with at least 5 years in a relevant industry role).

  • Deep expertise in tax reporting for partnerships, investment funds, REITs, and multi-family real estate assets.

  • Strong technical knowledge of ASC 740 and ASC 842, with international tax exposure.

  • Proven experience managing U.S. tax reporting for a diverse investor base, including institutional and international clients.

  • A track record of standardizing and documenting tax processes for scalable growth.

  • Advanced Excel and data analytics experience; RealPage/OneSite knowledge a plus.
