System Engineer – Nationwide Travel (Up to 50%)

About the Role:

We are seeking a System Engineer to support a critical migration project from VMware to Hyper-V, covering 100+ sites across the U.S. This role requires frequent travel (12-15 days per month) to 4-6 sites, ensuring seamless execution of migration efforts while managing the daily operations of our lab and storage environment, including equipment management and shipping.

The ideal candidate will have expertise in Windows Server administration, Hyper-V, and Operational Technology (OT) environments and the flexibility to travel up to 50% as needed.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and support the migration from VMware to Hyper-V across 100+ sites.
  • Travel to 4-6 locations per month (12-15 days of travel per month) to provide onsite support.
  • Oversee the daily operations of the lab and storage environment, including equipment shipping and management.
  • Configure, troubleshoot, and maintain Windows Server environments.
  • Work within Operational Technology (OT) environments to ensure system reliability and integration.
  • Collaborate with teams to execute and support infrastructure migration efforts.

Qualifications:

  • Experience migrating from VMware to Hyper-V.
  • Strong knowledge of Windows Server configuration and troubleshooting.
  • Hands-on experience with Hyper-V.
  • Exposure to Operational Technology (OT) environments is a plus.
  • Ability to manage lab and storage operations, including equipment logistics.
  • Willingness and flexibility to travel up to 50% (12-15 days per month).
