This is a high-impact role for someone who understands how to navigate enterprise complexity, influence decisions without authority, and design flexible, scalable systems that serve both business and technical goals. Candidates must be able to think strategically while still being willing to get hands-on when the work requires it.

 The Role

  • Guide capacity planning for enablement and architecture work

Define and Communicate Architecture Vision

  • Provide continuous guidance to Agile teams during implementation
  • Use abstraction, set-based design, and architectural flexibility to support system evolution

Guide System Design and Evolution

  • Collaborate with teams to identify design inconsistencies and propose solutions
  • Support spikes and architectural experiments to validate assumptions
  • Balance architectural intent with team capacity, available tools, and real-world constraints

Build Quality & Support DevOps

  • Promote built-in quality, early problem identification, and sustainable design
  • Help teams address NFRs in ways that reduce rework and risk
  • Support architecture that enables continuous delivery and cloud scalability
  • Guide decisions around tooling, environments, and infrastructure
  • Enable instrumentation for performance, user behavior, and operational insights

 Must-Have Experience

We are seeking someone who brings depth, humility, and the ability to influence without authority.

  • Former full-stack developer who transitioned into architecture
    • Strong preference for Java or Python backgrounds
    • Open to candidates coming from Salesforce or Appian architecture and wanting to broaden
  • Has architected multiple systems at once in a complex environment
  • Strong integration architecture background
  • Functional and technical experience with BPM
  • Ability to communicate clearly with both business leaders and engineering teams
  • Self-starter who can lead through influence
  • Willingness to be hands-on as needed
  • Experience working within SAFe or similar Agile enterprise models
  • Experience with microservices architecture

 Preferred Experience

These skills will set a strong candidate apart:

  • Insurance industry experience
  • TOGAF certification
  • SAFe certification
