Sr. Appian Developer

Our client is a highly innovative organization that is pushing the boundaries of what Appian can do. They are deep into newer Appian capabilities like GenAI and Process HQ, actively experimenting in sandbox and beta environments, and using the platform across multiple parts of the business. This is not a maintenance role. They are looking for a senior Appian Architect who can help shape how the platform is used, what’s possible with it, and where it goes next.
What You’ll Do:
As the lead technical resource for Appian, you will be responsible for the design, development, and ongoing evolution of business-critical solutions on the Appian platform.

Architect, design, and build custom Appian applications using a mix of out-of-the-box functionality and custom components

Serve as the Appian “feature expert,” advising the business on what Appian can do today and how to best leverage new and emerging capabilities

Lead and influence solution design with scalability, performance, and long-term growth in mind

Implement enhancements and new functionality across existing Appian applications

Work heavily with integrations, including complex, ground-up integrations (not just basic connectors)

Collaborate closely with business stakeholders, product owners, and technical teams to translate needs into strong technical solutions

Provide technical leadership, coaching, and guidance to Appian developers and users

Review, audit, and QA work delivered by internal teams and external vendor resources

Actively participate in sandbox and beta environments to evaluate and adopt new Appian features
What We’re Looking For
This role requires someone senior enough to influence direction and make recommendations, not just execute against predefined tickets.

4+ years of hands-on Appian development and architecture experience

Deep experience with modern Appian features, including Process HQ and GenAI

Strong understanding of Appian design patterns and best practices

Experience building complex integrations, including API-based integrations from the ground up

Experience integrating Appian with platforms like Salesforce is a major plus

Appian Certified Lead Developer (or similar) which shows commitment to the platform and personal growth

Comfortable working directly with business users and stakeholders

Working knowledge of application servers, web servers, and operating systems

Curious, innovative, and forward-thinking mindset with a willingness to experiment and push the platform
