Job Title: Senior Windows System Administrator

Overview:
Our client is seeking a seasoned Senior Windows System Administrator to take ownership of maintaining, optimizing, and securing their Microsoft-based infrastructure. This individual will play a critical role in ensuring high system availability, supporting enterprise applications, and leading initiatives to enhance performance, scalability, and automation across the IT environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage, monitor, and maintain Windows Server environments (2016/2019/2022) and Active Directory infrastructure.
- Administer and support Group Policy, DNS, DHCP, and other core Windows services.
- Oversee patch management, system upgrades, and performance tuning to ensure optimal uptime and security.
- Manage virtualization environments (VMware or Hyper-V) and perform regular capacity planning and optimization.
- Implement and support backup, disaster recovery, and business continuity solutions.
- Partner with Security teams to maintain compliance and implement security best practices across all systems.
- Develop automation scripts and tools using PowerShell or similar scripting languages to streamline administrative tasks.
- Provide advanced troubleshooting and escalation support for complex system and application issues.
- Document infrastructure configurations, procedures, and operational standards.
- Mentor junior system administrators and contribute to process improvements and technology roadmaps.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field (or equivalent experience).
- 7+ years of experience in Windows system administration in an enterprise environment.
- Strong expertise with Windows Server, Active Directory, and Microsoft 365 administration.
- Experience managing virtualization platforms (VMware vSphere or Microsoft Hyper-V).
- Proficiency in PowerShell scripting and task automation.
- Knowledge of cloud environments (Azure or AWS) and hybrid integrations is preferred.
- Familiarity with security frameworks, patching tools, and monitoring systems (e.g., SCCM, SolarWinds, or equivalent).
- Excellent problem-solving, communication, and documentation skills.
