Title: Process Improvement Consultant (Business Consultant)

Location: Milwaukee, WI – hybrid onsite 3 days a week

Duration: 6 months initially with the ability to extend

Pay: $49/hr. W2 + benefits, free daily lunch when onsite 

Job Description:

We are seeking a Process Improvement Consultant to analyze, refine, and optimize business processes with a focus on increasing efficiency, improving service quality, reducing costs and errors, and enhancing overall stakeholder satisfaction. This role will support business goals by developing clear process maps, conducting gap analyses, and independently implementing solutions that drive measurable results.

The ideal candidate will combine strong analytical skills with collaborative leadership, helping to architect and guide process improvements across teams and business functions.

Primary Responsibilities

Drive Business Performance

  • Evaluate existing workflows and technologies to identify inefficiencies, root causes, and opportunities for improvement.
  • Conduct data collection, cost‑benefit analyses, and assessments to support recommendations.
  • Develop, recommend, and independently implement process improvements and system enhancements aligned with business priorities.
  • Define process measurement systems and data collection plans.
  • Document processes according to established Business Process Mapping standards.
  • Establish methods for ongoing monitoring and control of redesigned processes.
  • Design and support process architecture that aligns with strategic goals.
  • Promote and standardize best practices in process improvement across the organization.
  • Research new tools, methodologies, and technologies that can elevate process performance.
  • Create clear, detailed procedures based on documented processes.
  • Partner with business leaders, technology teams, and stakeholders to ensure process architecture informs operational decision‑making.

Subject Matter Expertise

  • Serve as a process improvement expert for product, operations, or technology teams.
  • Collaborate across disciplines to support problem‑solving, behavioral change, and process‑led transformation.

Qualifications

  • 4+ years of experience in process improvement, project management, business consulting, leadership, or related functional roles.
  • Strong ability to communicate effectively across all organizational levels to drive understanding and engagement around process initiatives.
  • Proven project management skills, including leading complex efforts with multiple stakeholders and change management components.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to build relationships and influence outcomes.
  • High level of organization, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple priorities independently.
  • Experience collecting, interpreting, and analyzing data using various systems and tools.
  • Prior facilitation and coaching experience related to problem solving, process development, or behavior change.
  • Lean or Six Sigma Black Belt certification desired (Master Black Belt preferred), or equivalent leadership experience in process improvement.
