Job Title: Observability Engineer – Grafana & Kubernetes
Location: Downtown Atlanta, GA, hybrid (potential to be remote)
Duration: 6+ Month contract 

About the Project:
Our client, a leading global enterprise, is undertaking a major Observability platform consolidation initiative, migrating from Splunk to Grafana as their enterprise solution. They are seeking a Grafana and Kubernetes specialist to help define the migration strategy and stabilize the platform as it scales.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the migration from Splunk to Grafana, ensuring platform stability and scalability.

  • Deploy and manage Kubernetes clusters, including resource scaling and optimization.

  • Implement and configure Grafana OSS distributed deployments.

  • Work hands-on with Grafana Alloy, Loki, and Mimir for data ingestion and visualization.

  • Apply best practices for Grafana dashboards, monitoring, and alerts.

  • Collaborate with internal teams to define migration strategy and observability standards.


Required Skills & Experience

  • Splunk-to-Grafana migration experience – must be proven at an enterprise scale.

  • Grafana expertise – deep platform knowledge beyond user-level proficiency.

  • Kubernetes & AWS/EKS – manage clusters, scale resources, and optimize deployments.

  • Deployment tools – experience with Helm and ArgoCD.

  • Telemetry & logging – hands-on with Grafana Alloy for OpenTelemetry, Loki, and Mimir.

  • Data ingestion & observability patterns – understand best practices for metrics, logs, and alerts.

  • Authentication & security – experience with migrating from BASIC auth or similar setups.


Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with enterprise cloud environments.

  • Previous work on large-scale platform migrations.

  • Strong collaboration and communication skills for cross-functional teams.
