Engineering Lead – SaaS Platform (Remote, EST Hours Required)
Location: Remote (Must work EST hours) – Quarterly travel to NYC required

About the Role

Our client is seeking an Engineering Lead to join their fast-growing in-house team. This person will play a pivotal role in evolving the platform by leading a team of talented engineers and driving key technical decisions alongside senior leadership. You’ll be a hands-on leader—contributing code, refining architecture, and ensuring quality—while fostering a collaborative, high-performing engineering culture.

What You’ll Do

  • Collaborate with the VP of Engineering and Chief Product Officer to define and execute high-impact platform enhancements

  • Lead and mentor a team of 5–7 software engineers, focusing on delivery, development, and team growth

  • Contribute hands-on to codebases, ensuring high quality and maintainability

  • Drive the design and deployment of scalable, resilient systems critical to the success of customers

  • Promote engineering best practices and foster a culture of continuous learning

  • Participate in API design and systems thinking to ensure long-term platform sustainability

  • Communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders

What You Bring

  • 5+ years of experience building business- and consumer-facing applications

  • Expert-level proficiency in TypeScript, especially in React and Node.js

  • Strong grasp of systems thinking; ability to understand how applications fit into the broader ecosystem

  • Proven experience in API design and the ability to balance short-term and long-term needs

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills—verbal and written

  • A passion for mentoring and developing team members

  • A positive, can-do attitude and a team-first mindset
