Overview
We’re seeking an Engineering Assistant to support a fast-moving utility/telecom engineering environment. This role focuses heavily on permitting, pole attachments, and coordinating project activities across internal teams and external vendors. The ideal candidate is organized, proactive, and confident managing details from end to end while working remotely.
Key Responsibilities

Support utility pole permitting processes, including preparing, submitting, and tracking permit applications.

Coordinate pole attachment documentation and workflows with engineering teams.

Manage application submissions to vendors, ensuring accuracy and timely follow-up.

Help coordinate purchases, materials, and vendor communications related to engineering projects.

Maintain complex engineering files, records, and schedules.

Compile, verify, and organize data and reports for internal and project-specific needs.

Process departmental documents requiring functional knowledge of engineering operations.

Draft, edit, and format correspondence and reports from engineer notes or rough drafts.

Gather and prepare statistical data for departmental reporting.

Provide proactive, detail-oriented support with minimal supervision.
Top Required Skills (Must-Haves)

Utility pole permitting experience.

Pole attachment experience.

Strong understanding of NESC (National Electrical Safety Code).

Project management experience (3–5+ years preferred).

Hands-on experience using Alden One.

Solid proficiency in Microsoft Excel and the broader MS Office suite.

Strong written and verbal communication skills.
