Title: Electrical Engineering Division Manager
Location: Greater Baltimore, MD Area (Hybrid)
Onsite in Owings Mills on Monday and Wednesday, other days remote (10-20% travel)

About the Opportunity
A well-established engineering and technical services organization is seeking an experienced Electrical Engineering Division Manager to lead a growing team focused on industrial and infrastructure-related projects. This leadership role combines technical oversight, management, project execution, and client engagement. This role will involve about 60% engineering, 20% management, and 20% client facing activities.

The ideal candidate will bring a strong background in electrical engineering design, team leadership, quality assurance, and project delivery within complex industrial environments. This is an excellent opportunity for an engineering leader who enjoys mentoring technical teams while remaining involved in high-level design and client-facing activities.

Key Responsibilities

Leadership & Operations
• Lead, mentor, and develop a team of electrical engineers, designers, and CAD professionals.
• Establish and maintain engineering standards, quality processes, and best practices.
• Manage departmental resources, staffing plans, training initiatives, and operational performance.
• Conduct employee performance reviews and support career development efforts.
• Foster collaboration across engineering disciplines and project teams.
• Support a culture focused on safety, quality, accountability, and continuous improvement.
• Participate in business development efforts and help strengthen long-term client relationships.

Project Delivery
• Partner with project managers to ensure appropriate staffing and technical support for projects.
• Monitor project scope, schedules, budgets, and resource utilization.
• Provide technical guidance throughout the project lifecycle.
• Support risk management and quality assurance initiatives.
• Communicate project status and technical considerations to internal and external stakeholders.

Engineering & Technical Oversight
• Lead and review electrical engineering and design activities from concept through construction.
• Develop and review engineering studies, specifications, calculations, and technical reports.
• Oversee preparation of construction documents and design packages.
• Ensure compliance with applicable codes, regulations, and industry standards.
• Coordinate with multidisciplinary engineering teams to support successful project execution.
• Provide quality control reviews of engineering deliverables.

Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license required, or will be siting for the PE soon.
• 15+ years of electrical engineering experience in industrial or process-oriented environments.
• 5+ years leading engineering teams and complex design projects.
• Experience managing project budgets, schedules, and technical resources.
• Strong communication and client relationship skills.
• Demonstrated ability to mentor technical staff and lead high-performing teams.

Technical Experience
Candidates should possess significant experience in several of the following areas:
• Electrical power distribution and facility power systems.
• Preparation and review of electrical construction documents.
• Switchgear, motor control centers, generators, variable frequency drives, and related equipment.
• Industrial manufacturing, process facilities, utilities, energy, life sciences, food production, or similar environments.
• Hazardous location design and applicable electrical codes.
• Electrical system studies, equipment specification, and design review.

Software Experience
• Microsoft Office Suite
• AutoCAD
• Specification development software and related engineering tools
