Title: Digital Workplace Asset Management & Procurement Lead
Location:  Marietta (onsite)
 
As the Digital Workplace and Procurement Lead, you will own and lead the end-to-end procurement and onboarding lifecycle for enterprise IT hardware and related services. This role is responsible for ensuring the consistent, cost-effective, and high-quality delivery of technology assets while serving as the primary point of contact for vendor relationships, purchasing strategy, and asset standardization. You will partner closely with IT, Finance, HR, and business stakeholders to forecast demand, optimize spend, and ensure a seamless Day 1 onboarding experience.  We are specifically seeking “in the trenches” candidates who have hands-on experience supporting laptops and desktops and bring that operational understanding into asset, procurement, and vendor leadership.
 
DAY-to-DAY RESPONSIBILITIES: 
 
  • Lead the IT hardware and software procurement strategy for laptops, desktops, servers, workstations, and peripheral equipment, ensuring alignment with business needs, budgets, and technical standards
  • Serve as the primary liaison with IT hardware suppliers and vendors, owning contract management, pricing negotiations, SLAs, and performance reviews
  • Manage software distribution and licensing, ensuring compliance with legal and organizational standards.
  • Monitor licensing agreements and perform audits to prevent overuse or underutilization of software. Inventory and Asset Tracking
  • Maintain accurate, up-to-date records of all IT assets using asset management systems.
  • Develop and execute cost-efficient sourcing strategies, including vendor consolidation, lifecycle management, and standardization initiatives
  • Forecast hardware and desktop resource needs based on hiring plans, refresh cycles, and technology roadmaps
  • Evaluate emerging technology trends and recommend alternatives or upgrades to improve performance, reliability, and cost efficiency
  • Facilitate acquisitions, refreshes, and upgrades across the enterprise, ensuring timely delivery and readiness for new hires
  • Own and maintain desktop standards, including standard images, configurations, and compliance with security and IT policies
  • Oversee inventory management, asset tracking, and hardware lifecycle processes, ensuring accurate records and audit readiness
  • Manage and maintain vendor support contracts related to Software, desktop and end-user computing resources
  • Act as an escalation point for complex onboarding and desktop-related issues, ensuring rapid resolution and minimal business impact
  • Partner with Service Desk and Tier 2/3 teams to resolve end-user issues related to Windows OS, Office 365, VPN/connectivity, printers, and peripherals
  • Provide leadership and guidance on procurement
 
WHAT YOU’LL BRING:
 
  • Proven experience in IT asset management, end-user support, or IT operations
  • Strong knowledge of PC hardware, imaging, software management, and asset lifecycle management ·
  • Familiarity with vendor management, procurement processes, and contract negotiation ·
  • Work with Onboarding team to make sure that the assets are sent to the user on time
 
 
MUST HAVE:
 
  • 8+ years of experience in IT hardware and software asset management
  • 3+ years of experience in Digital Workplace, End-User Computing, or IT Operations, with direct ownership of IT asset management.
  • Hardware and software asset lifecycle governance using ITAM tools (ServiceNow HAM/SAM preferred) including specific SKU knowledge
  • Working knowledge of identity provisioning as it relates to device onboarding (Microsoft Entra ID, Intune, Autopilot)
  • Strong background in incident management, root-cause analysis, and operational stabilization in fast-paced environments.
  • Strong knowledge of PC hardware, imaging, Laptop Builds (Ram, etc..) & software management
  • Proven ability to design and maintain scalable documentation, runbooks, and operational playbooks.
  • Experience defining and managing KPIs, SLAs, and onboarding dashboards for leadership visibility.
  • Excellent cross-functional communication skills with the ability to operate calmly and decisively during Day-1 escalations.
 
  • Bachelor’s degree in business, Supply Chain, Information Systems, or a related field preferred
  • Proven ability to build and maintain strong vendor and supplier relationships
  • Demonstrated experience developing and executing strategic, cost-effective procurement plans
  • Strong contract negotiation and vendor management skills
  • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to adapt to changing business needs, manage competing priorities, and perform effectively under pressure
