Cloud Solutions Architect

Position Summary
The Cloud Solutions Architect supports the planning, design, governance, implementation, modernization, and operational readiness of cloud, application, infrastructure, integration, data, and platform solutions across the Program. The role translates business, program, security, privacy, integration, reporting, accessibility, and operational requirements into scalable, secure, compliant, cost-effective, and supportable solution designs.
Core Experience
- 57+ years in a Cloud / Solutions / Enterprise / Technical Architect role
- 810+ years total IT experience in enterprise environments
- Proven experience supporting complex, cross-functional technology initiatives
Cloud & Architecture Expertise
- Strong hands-on experience designing and deploying solutions in AWS (EC2, S3, RDS, IAM, Lambda, API Gateway, ECS/EKS, etc.)
- Experience with:
- Cloud architecture (scalable, secure, cost-effective design)
- Cloud networking, infrastructure-as-code (Terraform/CloudFormation)
- CI/CD pipelines, automation, and environment management
- Knowledge of modern architectures:
- Microservices, APIs, serverless, event-driven, SOA
Enterprise Systems & Integration
- Experience with application, integration, data, and infrastructure architecture
- Ability to design and guide:
- APIs, middleware, data flows, and system integrations
- Familiarity with enterprise tools (e.g., Salesforce, MuleSoft, Snowflake, Tableau, Java/Spring stack)
Security, Risk & Compliance
- Strong understanding of:
- Security architecture, identity & access management
- Compliance, privacy, DR/BCP, and operational controls
- Ability to identify risks, dependencies, and architectural tradeoffs
Documentation & Governance
- Experience producing architecture artifacts:
- Diagrams, solution designs, decision records, integration specs
- Comfortable supporting governance reviews and technical standards alignment
Collaboration & Communication
- Experience working across:
- Architecture, engineering, security, vendors, and business teams
- Ability to translate complex technical concepts into clear recommendations
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills in matrixed environments
Education
- Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field (or equivalent experience)
