Job Description:
This role is responsible for performing daily and monthly balancing of ledger accounts and financial systems, managing high volumes of activity, and resolving both routine and complex variances. The position plays a critical role in maintaining a strong control environment and ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial reporting.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform daily and monthly reconciliations of general ledger accounts and bank accounts, identifying and resolving discrepancies in a timely manner
- Review bank reconciliations, provide technical guidance, and resolve complex reconciliation issues
- Maintain and apply business rules within the bank reconciliation system to ensure consistency and accuracy
- Prepare and post journal entries (debits/credits) in accordance with accounting principles
- Research and resolve system and accounting issues, analyzing bank and general ledger data to improve processes, strengthen controls, and drive efficiency
- Support regulatory compliance and operational needs by preparing financial and analytical reports
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams and participate in system and product implementation projects
- Provide support across the team to help balance workload and meet deadlines in a dynamic environment
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (required)
- Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial processes
- Experience with account reconciliations and high-volume transactional environments
- Ability to prepare and review journal entries accurately
Skills & Competencies:
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- High attention to detail and problem-solving capabilities
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (ability to maintain, manipulate, and analyze data effectively)
- Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook (email and calendar management)
- Technologically savvy with the ability to quickly learn new systems and tools
- Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively within a team
